Chalk Art Terms and Conditions

All artists will be provided with chalk and must use the chalk in their designated chalk square only. Chalk and pastels are the only medium allowed for the festival. Chalk must be water-based. No acrylic paints, liquid pastels, hard pastels, etc., are acceptable. No tempura base paint may be used.

All artists must state the specific image to be drawn prior to confirmation of participation in the Festival. Festival organizers reserve the right to deem submitted subject matter as inappropriate. Political or commercial advertisements and statements are not allowed. Festival organizers reserve the right to deem submitted subject matter, as well as the actual work generated on July 4th, as inappropriate and immediately erase/destroy such works. Failure to follow the rules or the creation of objectionable works may be grounds for artist to have permission to create chalk art revoked.

Check-in for artists begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Idaho Statesman Festival registration booth in the park. Artists can work from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
